Our vision of Bridge Builders International is to see the Lord Jesus Christ transform the nation of Latvia by his love and power.



Our mission is to bring people together to develop and strengthen leaders, build partnerships and connect resources with needs and opportunities.  In short, we build bridges to Latvia…from Latvia…in Latvia.



Founded in 1994, BBI has helped more than 2000 people, representing more than 200 churches and organizations, to visit and minister in Latvia.



This site is designed to inform and encourage you with breaking news, powerful projects and compelling human interest stories, all facilitated by BBI. In the Partnership section, you will discover churches and organizations that are impacting Latvia educationally, practically and spiritually. Some projects feature high profile people like President Guntis Ulmanis, Luis Palau and Thomas Kinkade. Most projects involve average people...like you and me.



We are also committed to several ongoing projects in Latvia.  Prayer Days is an annual three-day spiritual formation retreat for spiritual leaders.  Mission Days is a three-day mission mobilization conference designed to help identify and raise up a new generation of spiritual workers from Latvia. 



Our ministry is deeply involved in the Latvian National Prayer Breakfast movement.  This vision is to encourage Latvia’s most influential leaders to encourage and pray for one another and the nation. The annual Prayer Breakfast event takes place in November.



This site introduces you to many unique people, some American and others Latvian, who have devoted much of their lives to helping the people and nation of Latvia make the transition from Soviet communism to freedom.

BBI was founded in 1994 with headquarters in Philomath, Oregon, a small town near Corvallis. In 1998, a Latvian office was established in the capital city of Riga. It is called “Nodibinajum Partneri” or Partners Association.  Interestingly, BBI's history actually extends all the way back to 1930.
