he Florals of Latvia note cards use photographs taken by Talis Talbergs, the founder and president of Vards & Co. Ltd., (the Word & Co.). Vards & Co. includes a nationwide Christian radio station and a Christian publishing company, both headquartered in Riga, Latvia.

Mr. Talbergs has dreamed and prayed about adding a Christian recording studio to his facility for quite some time, because of the lack of Christian music written for and by Latvians. Currently, about 95% of the recorded Christian music sold and broadcast in Latvia is or was originally written in English. Despite the best of intentions, translations often lose the richness, perhaps even the true meaning, of the original lyrics. The impact of translated music on listeners oftentimes results in a less intimate experience with the music, because of being filtered though a foreign language. If we are to share the Gospel properly in Latvia through the medium of music, then there is a significant and immediate need to create a Latvian-based Christian recording studio...a place where Latvians can record their music in their language for their people.

Thus, the forming of the Latvian Nehemiah Project, a partnership coalition of a group of concerned believers working together to make the Christian recording studio in Latvia a reality. The proceeds from the sale of the Florals of Latvia will provide funding and support for this Christian recording studio.
