Outreach and Evangelism

Equipping hundreds in Latvia for church planting, summer camps,

sister church partnerships, and evangelistic campaigns

    Sharing the transforming Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ has always been a priority for BBI. Most of Chuck Kelley’s early trips to Latvia focused directly on evangelism. At first he served as the evangelist and later he invited other gifted evangelists, like Steve Russo and Bob Cryder, to serve. 

    At times, BBI has directly organized and carried out major evangelistic campaigns, like Hope ’91, Hope ’92, Hope ’94 and Hope ’99.  Several thousand people have made public professions of faith in these events.

    For several years, BBI has facilitated efforts to train and equip youth leaders to develop ministries in their own churches. These efforts were called “Protein Conferences.”  Exciting extension outreach opportunities, called “teRiga” also took place for several years, utilizing service as a mechanism to bless cities throughout Latvia.

    In recent years, BBI has helped organize and implement Latvia’s National Prayer Breakfast, where the Gospel has been creatively and effectively shared with hundreds of the nation’s more influential leaders.

    Because of the many partnerships facilitated by BBI, countless evangelistic projects have been undertaken.  They have taken the form of summer camps, Vacation Bible Schools, concerts, street ministry, dental clinics, specialized youth events and church outreach programs.

    Even more outreach and evangelism has taken place because of the church planting that has been encouraged, assisted and, sometimes, implemented by BBI’s staff, missionaries and church partnerships.
