Expressions of Love and Mercy Continue to Bear Fruit

    ERGLI, Latvia – After a long, cold winter, excitement and happiness are springing up as the snow has finally melted and the grass is starting to green.   So much of the distress of the winter just seems to melt away as the sun comes out and the days get longer.  Yet, for so many the joy of spring is still waylaid by the complications of a poor economy.

    The opportunity to be in so many homes in February was not only a blessing and encouragement for those visited, but also for so many involved.  The social welfare office of Madona called not to long ago to say how shocked they were at what a huge help our churches were able to be for those in need... how amazing to not have strings attached.

    Now we ask your prayers as several people from our church will go out with more packages to some of the homes that seemed most responsive and needy.  One of the young ladies in our church has also been working with a foundation that is providing 149 smaller packages each month, to be distributed from our church.

    Several people have been attending each church service (in Ergli and Madona) off and on since the outreach.  Some have been quite open, while others are still pretty reserved and nervous.  Please pray for God’s continued love and mercy to flow from the hearts of our churches as we seek to bring help and hope at a tough time.  Please pray that God’s Spirit would bring transformation into many of these hurting lives and situations.
