A Heartfelt Testimony from Prayer Days 2010

    TILZA, Latvia – Amazing, sharing, revealing, caring, showing, loving, praying, daring, fulfilling, challenging, partnering, uplifting, humbling, hiding…. these are just a few of the words that come to mind as I reflect on my time at Prayer Days 2010.  I was challenged over and over again by the words of our speaker, Wally Schoon.

    My hiding place should be in Him but where do I take refuge?  Do I listen to Him when He calls me? Do I take time to bring my heart before Him?  Do I challenge myself to know Him deeper?  Do I read His Word?  Do I follow the path He has laid before me?  Do I truly understand how He loves me unconditionally?  Do I share my faith with others?  Do I repent when I have sinned?  Do I quiet my thoughts when He wants my attention?  Why are these things so difficult?  Can I break the cycle of my daily patterns that do not include Him?  Yes, I earnestly desire to change!

    Each individual received something unique from his or her time at Prayer Days.  For some it may have been to walk closer with Him, for others it was a time of fellowship and strengthening with other believers, and for others it may have been a time to acknowledge His Lordship in their lives.  For me it was a time to remember and comprehend more fully that Christ is my Guide, my Companion, my Savior, my Friend, my Hiding Place, and it is He I must cling to at all times, not just when I “feel” like it.  Laying your life before Him is indeed a process that you must live daily and I need to remember He is always right there for me – no matter what!

    It was a privilege to be a part of Prayer Days.  To God be the Glory!
