Seven Creative Ways to Give

  1. Tax-Free IRA Charitable Rollovers have been extended. As part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, individuals 70 1/2 or older may now transfer any amount up to $100,000 from a traditional or Roth IRA directly to BBI without claiming this transfer as income.  This legislation expires December 31, 2009. Transfers can only be made until the end of the year. Please check with your accountant and call our office at 541-602-6968.

  2. "In kind" gifts can be given to BBI. An "in kind" gift is something of value that BBI could either use directly or sell and use the proceeds for its work and ministry. We have received airline frequent flyer mileage, stamp collections, coin collections, furniture, computer hardware and software, and automobiles. We are open to receiving other types of gifts as well, including real estate. Please know that IRS regulations do not allow us to fix a value on "in kind" gifts.

  3. Securities, whether or not they have appreciated in value, can be given. We have the ability to receive, buy and sell stocks and bonds through our Charles Schwab account. It is BBI's practice to sell donated securities as soon as they are received. Over the years, BBI has been greatly blessed by these kinds of gifts. Please call our office to discuss specifics. 541-602-6968

  4. You can name Bridge Builders International in your will as one of the worthy causes that you would like to receive a final gift. BBI has gratefully received several such gifts which have been put to very fine use. BBI has a fine working relationship with professional organizations with expertise in wills and estate planning. Please call our office for details. 541-602-6968

  5. You can attend and/or invite friends to one of BBI's annual celebration banquets. These are marvelous evenings of sharing, music, information and opportunity.

  6. You can host a special BBI Praise and Prayer gathering in your home. This is a great way to introduce your friends and loved ones to BBI. Chuck Kelley or a BBI missionary or board member could be invited to help lead the evening.

  7. You can introduce BBI to your friends, colleagues and/or church. We are always looking to share BBI’s vision and opportunities to new people and churches.
